Genesis generally refers to the origin of a thing. In user interface design—especially in applications—the nature of it involves many things that are created, transitioned, and deleted. For example, this very page was created using WordPress. Once created, it materializes its identity – a page, in particular, and follows are many metadata and other properties that a page could have. Soon after, as needed, an editor could modify or delete it.
In this regard, I have standardized an aspect of Product Design that must be always present in Information Architecture and Interaction Design – the Genesis. It has the following elements:
- Creation
- Identification
- Modification
- Deletion
