đź‘‹ Oi, mga repapips, Brian Dys here! I love music, photography, and creative stuff like UX design and art. This is a place where I collect my thoughts and works. Apart all these, I’m Jaycelle’s better half and Bryce’s dad. 🥰
Unlike photography, nothing is ever in a painting by accident.
Some psychologists call this constant chasing of pleasure the “hedonic treadmill” because people who are constantly striving for a “better life” end up expending a ton of effort only to end up in the same place.
The Disease of More
Many projects begin with principles (ex: easy, simple). But the hard part isn’t coming up with the principles so much as adhering to them or rather becoming subservient to them.

So moderating spam seems to quite clearly enable more free speech by making platforms for speech more usable. Without such moderation, the platforms would get less use and people would be less likely to be able to speak in the same manner.
Why Moderating Content Actually Does More To Support The Principles Of Free Speech
While many of us have thought of being a good listener being like a sponge that accurately absorbs what the other person is saying, instead, what these findings show is that good listeners are like trampolines.
What Great Listeners Actually Do
From a simple coda in the song Tingin Ngiti, comes the birth of another song, Tara Kiss. They are related yet independent. I felt like I wouldn’t have given it justice if it were to remain within the main song. It’s a story about how we, as a couple, are wooing each other after an LQ (lovers’ quarrel).

By denaturalising everyday professional practice and by throwing surprise into the mix, purposeful serendipity is therefore perhaps another way of emphasising the serious playfulness of successful information discovery: the harnessing of surprise, delight and unexpectedness in the everyday.
Very often it is when we are not seeking an answer that the information serendipitously presents itself, but when we consciously try to find something out, it remains stubbornly elusive, hidden in sources we have not yet imagined to consult.
Feedback is high leverage because it’s cheap for you to give, and provides high value to the recipient by giving them information early. Their alternative is having to guess at their own performance and behavioral impact.

People think, learn, behave, and experience the world around them in many different ways. Some of this diversity is due to neurological differences.

So take some time at the beginning to clarify: what is it that you intend to learn? Just like in traditional Project Management, it’s hard to do something well if you don’t define first what “doing well” looks like.
Need visual mind-mapping with circles and lines? Maybe you do. But maybe you don’t. Maybe it’s just another distraction, focusing on the tools instead of your thinking.

This instrumental version of Tingin Ngiti is nearing completion. What I mean by “completion” is self-satisfaction. Satisfaction that the melodic story has run its full course. Satisfaction that parts of the song have individual subtle flavors to them — this was done by sprinkling and interjecting chords and notes that I wanted to try. Without these twists, it might sound like a broken record, and I’m aiming for uniqueness in the verses.
“Tingin, ngiti lang ba ang isusukli sa akin?” One line, yesterday morning, was dropped by my muse in my head. I excitedly shared it with Jaycelle even if the story has yet to unfold. A song title that was a mere wordplay is unraveling itself into a story of our lives together. The lyrics are currently crystallizing, taking the shape of the melody, and the melody taking the shape of the lyrics — a heterogeneous mixture.

Ano ba ang gusto mong sabihin?
Tumalikod, sumimangot

I’m particularly excited because I finally have a follow-up (potential) song for Jaycelle to sing. The last time was a long time ago.
Here’s a “music video” with the song, Save Myself, which I composed on August 2, 2003 and recorded it with Jaycelle on June 28 this year. The footage and stills are from her birthday picnic last November 28. This song is for you, darling.Save Myself Music Video

The more one studies attempted solutions to problems in politics, economics, in art, philosophy, and religion, the more one has the impression of extremely gifted people wearing out their ingenuity at the impossible and futile task of trying to get the water of life into neat and permanent packages.
Without trust we don’t truly collaborate, we merely coordinate or, at best, cooperate. It is trust that transforms a group of people into a team.
Genuinely listening to their opinions and feedback allows you to expand your own point of view and try out new things you might not have tried on your own.
To be without curiosity is to believe that you already know everything, or even worse, that you know all you want to know. It is a blunting of human experience.
There is something powerful about this notion of possibility spaces, both from a theory standpoint, and as a way of seeing. It causes you to approach challenges in a different way. You don’t need to be creative. The creative breakthrough already exists out there in the space of possibility. It’s just waiting to be discovered.
